Kurdish Regional Government (KRG)

The Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) is the semi-autonomous governing body responsible for managing the Kurdistan Region in northern Iraq. Established after the 2003 Iraq invasion, it has its own parliament, military forces (like the Peshmerga), and administrative institutions. The KRG handles regional laws, security, education, and economic policies, operating with a degree of independence from the Iraqi federal government, though Iraq retains ultimate sovereignty.
