Kumaoni language

Kumaoni is an Indo-Aryan language spoken primarily in the Kumaon region of northern India’s Uttarakhand state. It has a rich oral tradition, including folk songs, stories, and poetry, reflecting local culture and traditions. While it shares similarities with other regional languages like Garhwali and Hindi, Kumaoni maintains unique vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammatical features. It serves as a key part of local identity and cultural expression for the Kumaoni people.
