Kshatrapas

The Kshatrapas, also known as the Western Satraps, were ruling groups of Indo-Scythian origin who governed parts of western India from around the 1st to the 4th centuries CE. They established a series of powerful dynasties that controlled trade, collected taxes, and influenced regional culture. Their rule is notable for their contributions to art, coinage, and the spread of Buddhism. The Kshatrapas often interacted and competed with other Indian powers, such as the Satavahanas, shaping the historical landscape of ancient India.
