Kotel War

The Kotel War, also known as the Western Wall or Wailing Wall dispute, refers to tensions surrounding access and control of the Western Wall in Jerusalem, a site sacred to Jews. The conflict emerged during the early 20th century as Jewish and Arab communities and British authorities debated religious rights and sovereignty. The issue intensified during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War and after Israel's 1967 victory, when Israel took control of East Jerusalem. This has led to ongoing disputes over prayer rights, rituals, and sovereignty, highlighting broader tensions over Jerusalem’s religious and political significance.
