The Korean Navy, known as the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN), is South Korea’s maritime defense force responsible for protecting national waters, safeguarding maritime trade, and defending against threats from North Korea or other entities. It operates a fleet of ships, submarines, and aircraft to ensure maritime security, conduct patrols, and participate in international joint exercises. The Navy also plays a role in humanitarian missions and disaster response. As a modern force, it continuously upgrades its technology and capabilities to maintain regional stability and support South Korea’s strategic interests in the oceans.
