Korea Peninsula
The Korean Peninsula is a region in East Asia that extends southward from the Asian continent, comprising North Korea and South Korea. It is surrounded by the Yellow Sea to the west, the Sea of Japan (East Sea) to the east, and the Korea Strait to the south. The peninsula has a complex history of invasions, cultural exchange, and political division. After World War II, it was divided into two separate countries with different governments and ideologies, leading to ongoing tensions. Despite their division, North and South Korea share linguistic, cultural, and historical ties, and efforts for peace and cooperation continue.
