Korbinian Brodmann

Korbinian Brodmann was a German neurologist known for his work mapping the brain's cortex, the outer layer of the brain responsible for thinking, sensing, and decision-making. In 1909, he divided the cortex into numbered areas based on differences in structure and cell types, creating what is now called Brodmann areas. These areas help scientists understand how different parts of the brain function and relate to behaviors and processes. His work remains influential in neuroscience, aiding in the study of brain organization and activity.
