Konfrontasi
Konfrontasi was a conflict between Indonesia and Malaysia from 1963 to 1966, primarily driven by Indonesia’s opposition to the formation of Malaysia. Indonesia sought to prevent the creation of the new federation, viewing it as a colonial-style division of Southeast Asia. The confrontation included military skirmishes, sabotage, and diplomatic tensions, mainly conducted along border regions like Borneo. Although it was not a full-scale war, Konfrontasi caused instability in the region and involved both military and political efforts to oppose the union. The conflict ended in 1966 with diplomatic negotiations, leading to improved relations between the countries.
