Kocher's Incision
Kocher's incision is a surgical cut made on the right side of the upper abdomen to access the gallbladder and nearby structures. It involves a curved cut along the right side of the abdomen to allow surgeons to safely reach and remove the gallbladder or treat related problems. This incision provides good exposure of the area and is commonly used during gallbladder surgery, especially when the operation may be complex or require careful navigation of surrounding organs. It is named after the surgeon Emil Kocher, who developed this technique.
