Knowledge Attribution
Knowledge Attribution is the idea that whether we say someone knows something can depend on the context and the individual's intellectual character. In Contextualism, the standards for claiming knowledge can change based on the situation—what counts as "knowing" might differ among various discussions. In Virtue Epistemology, knowledge is linked to the individual's intellectual virtues, like open-mindedness or careful reasoning. So, in both views, determining whether someone knows something isn’t just about the fact itself but also involves factors like context and the person's qualities as a thinker.
