
Klaus Topfer
Klaus Töpfer is a German environmental scientist and policymaker known for his leadership in sustainable development. He served as the executive director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) from 1998 to 2006, where he promoted global environmental protection and climate action. Prior to that, he was Germany’s Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
