Kizilbash

Kizilbash refers to a religious and ethnic group that originated in Persia (modern-day Iran) during the 15th century, associated with Twelver Shia Islam. They combine religious beliefs with Turkish and Persian cultural elements and played a significant role in the political history of Persia and the Ottoman Empire. Historically, Kizilbash warriors supported the Safavid dynasty, which established Shia Islam as the dominant faith in Persia. Today, many Kizilbash communities still exist in Iran, Turkey, and Pakistan, maintaining their unique religious practices and cultural heritage.
