Kitchener's Legion

Kitchener's Legion was a nickname for a group of volunteers who joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force during World War I, inspired by Lord Kitchener’s call for enlistment. Officially known as the 15th Battalion (Canadian Highlanders), it was formed in 1914 in Toronto. The legion played a vital role in early Canadian military efforts, symbolizing patriotic commitment and national pride. Its members were primarily young men eager to serve overseas, and the battalion distinguished itself in significant battles, contributing to Canada's military history and legacy of volunteerism during the war.
