Kingpin Act
The Kingpin Act, officially known as the Foreign Narcotics Kingpin Designation Act, is a U.S. law established in 1999 to target major drug traffickers. It allows the federal government to identify and impose sanctions on individuals and organizations involved in significant drug trafficking activities. These sanctions can include freezing assets, restricting access to the U.S. financial system, and prohibiting U.S. citizens from doing business with them. The goal of the Act is to disrupt and dismantle powerful drug cartels and their operations, thereby reducing drug-related violence and trafficking in the United States and beyond.
