Kingdom of Hawaii
The Kingdom of Hawaii was a sovereign nation established in 1795 by King Kamehameha I, uniting the Hawaiian Islands into a single monarchy. It was recognized internationally, with a structured government and a constitutional monarchy by the late 19th century. The kingdom thrived through agriculture, trade, and cultural traditions. However, its sovereignty ended in 1893 when a group of American and European businessmen, with the support of U.S. foreign policy, overthrew the monarchy. Hawaii was eventually annexed by the United States in 1898, becoming a U.S. territory and later the 50th state.
