Kingdom of Granada
The Kingdom of Granada was the last Muslim stronghold in Spain, existing from 1238 until 1492. It was established after the Reconquista, when Christian kingdoms gradually reclaimed territory from Muslim rule. Located in the southern region of Andalusia, Granada was known for its rich culture, beautiful architecture, and advancements in science and philosophy. The famous Alhambra palace remains a symbol of this period. In 1492, the Catholic Monarchs, Ferdinand and Isabella, conquered Granada, marking the end of Muslim rule in Spain and the completion of the Reconquista, which significantly influenced European history and culture.
