King Wimaladharmasuriya I

King Wimaladharmasuriya I, also known as Vimaladarmasuriya I, was a Sri Lankan monarch who ruled Kandy from 1590 to 1604. He is remembered for unifying various regional kingdoms and strengthening the Kandyan kingdom's independence from Portuguese colonial powers. Wimaladharmasuriya I was a dedicated leader who promoted Buddhism and cultural development.
