King Richard III
King Richard III was the last king of the House of York and ruled England from 1483 until his death in 1485. His reign was marked by controversy and power struggles, particularly with the rival House of Lancaster, leading to the Wars of the Roses. Richard is often depicted as a villain in history and Shakespeare's play, mainly due to his alleged role in the disappearance of his nephews, the "Princes in the Tower." He was defeated at the Battle of Bosworth Field by Henry Tudor, who became Henry VII, marking the end of Plantagenet rule and the start of the Tudor dynasty.
