King Richard, known as Richard I of England and nicknamed Richard the Lionheart, was a medieval king famous for his leadership during the Crusades and his military prowess. Ruling from 1189 to 1199, he spend much of his reign overseas fighting in the Holy Land. Despite his reputation as a great warrior, he was also a capable ruler who aimed to strengthen his kingdom.
