King Guy of Lusignan
King Guy of Lusignan was a medieval nobleman and king of Jerusalem from 1186 to 1192. He came from a noble family in France and became king through marriage to Queen Sibylla. His reign was marked by conflicts with Muslim forces, notably the Battle of Hattin in 1187, where his army was decisively defeated, leading to the loss of Jerusalem. Despite this setback, he continued to lead Crusader states and participated in efforts to reclaim lost territories. His leadership is remembered as pivotal during the Crusades, illustrating the complex politics and warfare of the period.
