King Guy of Jerusalem
King Guy of Jerusalem was a medieval noble who became king during the Crusades, specifically from 1186 to 1192. Originally a noble from France, he was appointed as co-king through marriage to Queen Sibylla. His reign was marked by political turmoil and military challenges, especially against Saladin, the Muslim leader. Despite efforts to defend Christian territories, his leadership faced criticism, and he struggled to unify the kingdom's fragmented factions. His time as king is often remembered for the difficult circumstances of the Crusades and the complex politics of the Latin Christian states in the Holy Land.
