King George II of Greece

King George II of Greece was the monarch of Greece from 1935 to 1947, with a brief interruption during a military dictatorship. Born in 1890 as a member of the German-derived House of Glücksburg, he was the son of King Constantine I. His reign included navigating Greece through the turmoil of World War II, resistance against Axis occupation, and post-war political instability. In 1947, he was forced into exile due to internal conflict and shifting political landscapes, returning to Greece briefly in the late 1950s before his death in 1947. His leadership marked a turbulent period in Greek history.
