Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems
Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems (KERS) are technology used in vehicles to capture and reuse energy that is normally lost during braking. When you brake, the vehicle slows down, and that energy is typically dissipated as heat. KERS transfers some of this energy to a storage device, like a battery or flywheel, instead of wasting it. Later, during acceleration, this stored energy is deployed to give the vehicle a boost, improving efficiency and performance. Commonly used in motorsports and some hybrid vehicles, KERS helps save fuel and reduce emissions by making better use of the energy generated during driving.
