Kilimanjaro
Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s tallest peak, standing about 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) above sea level. Located in Tanzania, it is a dormant volcanic mountain composed of three cones: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. It’s a popular destination for climbers because it can be reached via trekking without the need for technical mountaineering skills, though high altitude poses challenges. The mountain features diverse ecosystems—from lush rainforests at its base to alpine deserts near the summit. Kilimanjaro is notable for its striking snow-capped summit and being the highest free-standing mountain on Earth, attracting adventurers worldwide.
