Khan As'ad Pasha

Khan As'ad Pasha was a 17th-century Ottoman governor and noble, serving as the governor of Damascus. He is best known for constructing Khan As'ad Pasha, a large and beautifully restored caravanserai (inn) built between 1743 and 1752 to support trade and travelers. This structure, located in the Old City of Damascus, features impressive courtyards, ornate arches, and detailed stonework. Khan As'ad Pasha played a significant role in promoting commerce and urban development, leaving a lasting legacy as a symbol of Islamic architecture and the historical prosperity of Damascus.
