Khan al-Shouneh

Khan al-Shouneh is a historic caravanserai located in Aleppo, Syria. Built in the 14th century, it served as a roadside inn where merchants could rest, store their goods, and conduct trade along ancient trade routes. Architecturally, it features a large central courtyard surrounded by covered galleries and rooms. Over centuries, it played a vital role in regional commerce and cultural exchange. Although damaged during recent conflicts in Syria, restoration efforts aim to preserve its historical significance as a symbol of the city's rich trading heritage.
