Khalkha

Khalkha is the largest ethnic group within Mongolia, primarily comprising the majority of the country's population. They speak the Khalkha dialect of the Mongolian language and have a rich cultural heritage rooted in nomadic traditions, horseback riding, and herding livestock. Historically, Khalkha Mongols played a central role in shaping Mongolia’s history and identity. Today, they mainly reside in eastern Mongolia, including the capital, Ulaanbaatar, and maintain practices that blend ancient customs with modern influences. Khalkha people are key to Mongolia's social, cultural, and political landscape.
