Key Stages

Key Stages are planned phases in a child's education in the UK, marking important points in their learning journey. Starting with early years (up to age 5), followed by primary school (ages 5-11), then secondary school (ages 11-16), where students complete GCSEs. Post-16, students may take further qualifications like A-levels or vocational courses. These stages help structure education and assessment, ensuring students develop skills progressively and are prepared for higher education or careers. Each stage builds on the previous, focusing on curriculum, development, and readiness for the next phase.
