Kermode bear
The Kermode bear, also known as the "spirit bear," is a rare subspecies of the American black bear found in British Columbia, Canada. Unique for its white or cream-colored coat caused by a rare genetic mutation, it is not albino. These bears are otherwise similar to black bears in behavior and diet, primarily feeding on berries, plants, and small animals. Their striking appearance has made them a significant symbol of conservation efforts. The Kermode bear's rarity and distinctive look highlight the importance of protecting natural habitats and genetic diversity in wildlife.
