Keratinocyte carcinoma

Keratinocyte carcinoma is a common type of skin cancer that develops from the outermost skin cells called keratinocytes. It often occurs in sun-exposed areas and is usually associated with long-term sun exposure or UV radiation. The most common forms are basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. These cancers tend to grow slowly and are highly treatable when caught early. They rarely spread to other parts of the body. Protecting your skin from excessive sun exposure and monitoring any changes in skin appearance are key in prevention and early detection.
