Kentucky Colonels basketball team

The Kentucky Colonels were a professional basketball team in the American Basketball Association (ABA) from 1967 to 1976. Based in Louisville, Kentucky, they were known for their strong fan support and competitive play, featuring notable players like Dan Issel and Artis Gilmore. The team was highly successful, winning the ABA championship in 1975. Despite their popularity, the franchise folded when the ABA merged with the NBA in 1976, as not all teams were absorbed into the NBA.
