Kenozoic
The Cenozoic Era, often called the "Age of Mammals," spans from about 66 million years ago to the present. It follows the extinction of the dinosaurs and features significant evolutionary diversification of mammals and birds. During this time, the Earth's climate cooled and ice ages occurred, shaping current landscapes and ecosystems. The Cenozoic saw the rise of modern humans and the development of many plant and animal species we know today. It is characterized by major tectonic plate movements, climate shifts, and the emergence of complex ecosystems that continue to evolve.
