Kenoticism

Kenoticism is a theological concept that describes how Jesus Christ, while remaining fully divine, voluntarily limited or emptied Himself of certain divine attributes—such as omnipotence and omniscience—to become human. This self-emptying, called "kenosis," allowed Jesus to empathize with human experiences and serve as a model of humility and self-sacrifice. Importantly, it emphasizes that Jesus' divine nature was not diminished but expressed through voluntary restraint during His earthly life, highlighting a dynamic relationship between His divinity and humanity.
