Kazan (submarine)
The Kazan was a Soviet nuclear-powered submarine launched in 1988, designed for strategic missile delivery during the Cold War. It belonged to the Typhoon class, the largest submarines ever built, capable of carrying multiple ballistic missiles for nuclear deterrence. Equipped with advanced sonar and stealth features, the Kazan could operate stealthily underwater for extended periods. It played a key role in Russia’s strategic nuclear forces, providing a mobile and concealed platform for delivering nuclear weapons. The submarine was decommissioned in the early 2000s and later scrapped, symbolizing Cold War naval power and strategic deterrence.
