Kawanakajima
Kawanakajima is the name of a series of historic battles fought in the 16th century in Japan's Sengoku period, primarily between two powerful warlords, Uesugi Kenshin and Takeda Shingen. These battles took place around the Kawanakajima plain near the Shinano and Sagami rivers, in what is now Nagano Prefecture. Known for their strategic complexity and fierce fighting, the conflicts exemplify the intense rivalries and political turbulence of the era, often called some of Japan’s most famous and tactically significant warfare. Today, the site is remembered for its historical importance and scenic landscape.
