Kataeb Party
The Kataeb Party, also known as the Phalangist Party, is a Lebanese political organization founded in 1936. It originated as a Christian nationalist group advocating for Lebanon’s independence, sovereignty, and the protection of its Catholic Christian community. Throughout its history, the party has played a significant role in Lebanon’s political landscape, notably during the Lebanese Civil War (1975-1990). Today, the Kataeb Party promotes Lebanese sovereignty, stability, and development, often aligning with conservative and nationalist policies. It operates within Lebanon’s complex multi-sectarian political system and seeks to represent Christian interests while participating in national governance.
