Kasserine Pass

Kasserine Pass is a mountain corridor in Tunisia that became a key battlefield during World War II. In February 1943, it was the site of a significant battle between Axis forces (mainly German and Italian troops) and the advancing Allied inexperience. The pass's narrow terrain made it difficult for the Allies to maneuver, leading to heavy casualties and initial setbacks. The fighting here highlighted the challenges of desert warfare and helped the Allies learn important lessons, eventually leading to their successful push into North Africa and the defeat of Axis forces in the region.
