Kashmiri Pandit
Kashmiri Pandits are a Hindu community native to the Kashmir Valley in northern India. Traditionally, they have been known as priests, scholars, and traders, with a rich cultural heritage and language rooted in Sanskrit and Kashmiri. Over centuries, they contributed significantly to the region’s cultural and religious life. In the late 20th century, due to escalating conflict and violence, many Kashmiri Pandits faced persecution and displaced from their homeland, leading to a large diaspora. Despite displacement, they continue to uphold their religious and cultural traditions, maintaining a distinct identity within Indian society.
