Karta

"Karta" is a term used in certain Indian contexts to refer to the individual who manages or oversees a family enterprise, typically in a Hindu undivided family (HUF). The Karta is usually the senior-most male member responsible for making decisions, managing assets, and representing the family legally and financially. This role involves fiduciary duties to act in the best interests of the family and its property. While traditionally held by a male, modern practices are evolving to include other eligible members.
