Karman Line
The Karman Line is an internationally recognized boundary that marks the edge of space, set at an altitude of 100 kilometers (about 62 miles) above Earth's sea level. It’s where the atmosphere becomes too thin to support traditional aircraft that rely on air for lift, and where space begins. This line is used to define the limit for spacecraft and satellites. While not physically marked by a barrier, it serves as a practical standard for distinguishing between our atmosphere and outer space. The Karman Line helps clarify legal and operational distinctions for space activities and exploration.
