Karen Demirchyan was a prominent Armenian politician and engineer, born in 1932. He played a key role in Armenia’s political scene during the late Soviet and early post-Soviet eras. Demirchyan served as the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament and was influential in shaping the country’s policies during a critical transition period after independence. He was known for his leadership and dedication to Armenia's development. Tragically, he was assassinated in 1999 during a political attack, marking a significant and sorrowful moment in Armenian history.
