Kanto Plain
The Kanto Plain is Japan's largest flat land area, located around Tokyo. It stretches across eastern Honshu, the main island, and is characterized by expansive, low-lying farmland and urban development. This plain has been formed through millions of years of sediment deposition from surrounding mountains, creating fertile soil ideal for agriculture and dense cities like Tokyo and Yokohama. Its flat terrain facilitates transportation, industry, and population growth, making it the political and economic heart of Japan. Despite its modern development, the Kanto Plain still retains natural features, including rivers and parks, balancing urban life with nature.
