Kammernacht
Kammernacht, also known as the Night of the Chamberlain, was a critical event that took place in Nazi Germany on June 30, 1934. It involved a series of political extrajudicial executions carried out by the Nazi regime to eliminate potential threats within its own ranks, particularly targeting leaders of the Sturmabteilung (SA). The purge was orchestrated by Adolf Hitler to consolidate power, remove rivals, and assure the loyalty of the military. The event marked a significant turning point, strengthening Hitler’s total control over Germany and setting a precedent for the regime’s use of violence to maintain authority.
