Kalmar War
The Kalmar War (1611–1613) was a conflict between Sweden and Denmark-Norway over control of respective territories in the Nordic region, particularly the Swedish-controlled province of Livonia and access to the Baltic Sea. Sweden sought to expand its influence and secure vital trade routes, while Denmark aimed to maintain dominance in the region. The war ended with the Treaty of Knäred, which temporarily favored Sweden by confirming some territorial gains. The conflict was part of ongoing power struggles in Scandinavia, shaping the future balance of influence among these nations.
