Kalidasa (poet)

Kalidasa was an ancient Indian poet and playwright regarded as one of the greatest literary figures in Sanskrit literature. Living around the 4th-5th century CE, he is celebrated for his mastery of language, vivid imagery, and deep emotional expression. His works often explore themes of love, nature, and spirituality. Notable texts include the Sanskrit plays "Shakuntala" and "Vikramorvasiyam," and the poem "Meghaduta" (The Cloud Messenger).
