Kalākaua
Kalākaua, known as the "Premier of Hawaiian Kings," was the last reigning king of Hawaii, ruling from 1874 to 1891. He was a strong advocate for Hawaiian culture, traditions, and sovereignty, promoting native language, music, and dance. Kalākaua modernized the islands by improving infrastructure and fostering diplomatic relations. However, his reign faced challenges from American and European interests, leading to political tensions.
