Kadyrovtsy

Kadyrovtsy are paramilitary groups associated with Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya. Comprising mainly local fighters, they support Kadyrov’s government and enforce its policies, often through military or police-like operations. Known for their loyalty to Kadyrov and involvement in various conflicts, including in Syria and Ukraine, they have been accused of human rights abuses and operating outside standard legal frameworks. Their presence reflects the complex political and security situation in Chechnya and the wider North Caucasus region.
