Kadamba Dynasty
The Kadamba Dynasty was an early medieval Indian dynasty that ruled parts of present-day Karnataka and Goa from roughly the 4th to 6th centuries CE. Founded by Mayurasharma, they established their capital at Banavasi and are known for promoting Kannada language, architecture, and temple construction, marking a significant cultural and political resurgence in South India. The Kadambas helped lay the foundation for regional kingdoms, and their rule is noted for administrative innovations, trade development, and contributions to South Indian art and culture. Their legacy influenced subsequent dynasties in the region.
