Ka (acid dissociation constant)

Ka, or the acid dissociation constant, measures how easily an acid releases its hydrogen ions (protons) into a solution. A higher Ka means the acid more readily dissociates, indicating it's a stronger acid. Conversely, a lower Ka shows the acid is weaker and dissociates less. It helps chemists understand and compare acid strengths in a precise way, based on the equilibrium between the intact acid molecules and the ions they produce in solution.
