Kōrin

Kōrin was a prominent Japanese painter and lacquer artist from the Edo period (17th–19th centuries). Known for his innovative and detailed work, he combined traditional Japanese techniques with influences from Chinese art. Kōrin specialized in landscapes, floral motifs, and decorative designs, often using vibrant colors and gold leaf to create visually stunning images. His style emphasized harmony, elegance, and natural beauty, making him a key figure in classical Japanese art. Kōrin’s work greatly influenced subsequent artists and helped define the Rinpa school, a major artistic movement in Japan.
